Internships at Spero
Are you interested in an internship with The Spero Project? Here are a few of the intern positions we are currently looking to fill. If you would like more information or would like to apply for these, contact kim@thesperoproject.com.
Legacy Teams Developer
We're creating a program that trains small group bible studies to be Legacy Teams. These Legacy Teams will come alongside a parent (typically a mother) who has had their children removed from their custody and placed into Foster Care. Each parent is given a Treatment Plan that could include counseling, parenting classes, rehab, and/or other things as needed. As you can imagine, it can be terribly challenging for a parent to work a treatment plan without tangible help (rides to counseling, help finding a job, etc.) and emotional support. Legacy Teams will help a parent become healthy and well-prepared to receive their children back into their homes. An internship could include researching and developing training curriculum, establishing guidelines for Legacy Teams, communicating with DHS staff, contact with small group staff at churches, assistance in training of teams, monitoring and documenting the first few Teams who are serving with a parent, or some combination of each of these areas.
Marked Administrator
We host an annual event to raise awareness and funds for organizations working on behalf of women worldwide. Though the event isn't until March, there are many things to work on in advance. We are looking to increase our education and experiential portions of the event and will need some help preparing these pieces. Other needs are administrative, marketing planning, and recruitment and organization of the volunteers. Overall, we're looking for someone to help create this fantastic event! This year, we're also including a week-long follow up to the main event where we will ask key leaders from women's organizations that are a part of Marked to come to an intensive week of training, counseling, and prayer designed specifically for them as they work on behalf of women. We'll have sessions dealing with the economic empowerment of women, counseling techniques when working with women, and more. All of these sessions will need to be taught by people who are good in their field, but also understand the cultural nuances of each area of the world these leaders are from, which makes planning for such a week challenging. We'll also be bringing in pastoral care for the leaders to debrief and have a renewing time "off the field". This intern will be helping us throughout the planning of Marked, including the day-event open to the public and the week-long conference for the organizations involved.
